Alitalia is the largest airline in Italy, and one of Europe's leading airlines.

After facing bankruptcy in 2008, the airline had a new lease on life when it was purchased by a group of investors and re-launched in February 2009.  Since the re-launch, the airline has transported in excess of 50 million passengers.

Air One is Alitalia's low cost carrier, and it services a number of domestic routes within Italy, as well as flights to other surrounding European countries.

The airline's head office is situated at Fiumicino Airport in Rome, and it offers flights from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to Fiumicino Airport in Rome, as well as Venice Marco Polo Airport.
